At least one of my creeks is starting to clear up nicely! I have no doubt the fish are still there, hopefully more than before, and a few bigger ones as well. May find out tonight after 10 pm. Looks promising and i got the itch! Hopefully film after 11!

Just curious about the safety in fishing so Late in isolated spots.

Fishing isolated spots late at night since the late 70's. To date, NOT ONE INCIDENT of any sort. Will continue to do so and continue to catch fish(hopefully). Speaking of which, last night, met up with Fishbonz at the Penthouse, obstensibly to catch a few crappie. We started fishing about 10:30, and by 11:30 had caught between us maybe 25-30 crappie(mostly Fishbonz!). But to add some spice to the proceedings, we ran into some aggressive and decent sized black bass that would not stay off those Bobby Garland jigs of 'Bonz! I caught 4, three of which were 14 inches or bigger, and Bonz caught several as well. Here is a representative sample of the size bass we caught. Not sure on total number of bass between us but i know Bonz caught several.



BTW, I had no fishing gear with me last night, as i had taken it out of the car, and
Bonz was kind enough to loan me a rod and a jig.

Rudy, you don't get kicked out fishing there? Might have to give it a shot. I live literally 5 minutes from there.

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. On New year's eve, my wife started complaining about a pain in lower abdomen near the groin area. By New Years Day, the pain was unbearable, so i took her to the emergency room. Cat scan revealed a large hernia, with an incarcerated(doctor's term)large intestine. Blood flow was starting to be restricted, and the fear of infection setting in was priority with the doctors. Long story short, emergency surgery was performed that same day, the colon had to be re positioned back to its original location, so there was no work nor fishing for me for awhile.

Fortunately, the procedure was successful, there were no tears, lacerations or infections in the intestines, bowel or colon, and she is gonna be fine. She was back at work Monday morning, albeit at a MUCH SLOWER pace than normal.

So with her insisting she was good to go, I hit the penthouse last night after work, caught 22 crappie between 10:20 and 11:15 pm, but only 4 keepers, and one 16 inch black bass. No pics, my fingers were COLD. When my feet got cold, it was time to hit the trail.

I tried a creek yesterday and only caught on small crappie and 7 bass. I think the cold front we had last week played havoc after the 70+ degree days we had been having. No whites running yet that I can tell.

Appreciate the kind words guys, she is gonna be fine. The way she looks at it, if she kicked breast cancer's butt, anything else is a walk in the park.
