The later at night, the better it gets: caught these between 10:55 PM and 11:20 PM. 12 total, here's 4 of em: Also got one 6 inch largemouth. As you can see on at least one pic, the chartreuse/red hollow body, 1/32 nd. oz. jig did the trick again. Mouth creek with nearby street light. It was windy, and wind kept changing directions. Remember this is urban creek fishing. Rudy

To paraphrase an old Buddy Holly song, "Every day, it's a getting better,. . ." Last night between 10:15 and 11:15 pm, in about 7 ft of water, crappie spread from the bottom to about 12 inches from the surface, as the steam started to rise from the water, and the air temp began to plummet. Got 20, kept 3, with a lot of 9.......'s but not quite 10. Red/chartreuse hollow body tube, 6 lb Trilene, UL rod and reel: Awaiting the fillet knife! Now that you have met my Wednesday night dinner guests, GO GETCHA SOME! It is excellent fishing for crappie right now! This particular creek cleared up rapidly. During the day, i walked it looking for bass(found a couple). Water was so clear i could see my lure 3-4 ft below the surface as i was reeling it in! The crappie are quite cooperative right now, the key is getting your bait in front of them! They are more than willing to accept your offerings! This morning there was frost, for the first time this year, on my car windshield! It just gets better by the day as all the signs point to a banner winter crappie fishing season! Gotta love it!!!! Hey Fishbonz, as you were leaving last night, and you honked at me as you turned the corner on the street, that horn was like the dinner bell! They started thumping one after another!!! Thanks, you brought me good luck!!! Rudy

Good job Rudy! Were you using a float with those jigs? I bet it was a bit chilly out there.

no float last night. It was nippy. Love to go crappie hunting when weather gets like that. Crisp air, clear water, steam rising out of water as temp drops, and fat crappie! what more could you ask for!

Well I said a report was comin and here it is!!! Met up with 5 guys at the creek at 730 and fished till 915! First cast kaboom!!! And it never stopped didn't take pics of us catching cause you couldn't get jig back in the water quick enough!!! Caught close to 100-120 with about 30 of em keepers between us!! Guys the cold rain drove em up the creek get out there and they are not picky on color or size or hair or plastic, they slammed it ALL!!! Jig under a cork about 2-3 ft and you WILL catch!!! I took home 13
