Disregard my last. Found out how to do it with some googling. I had to create a waypoint on the new sd card and export the waypoint to the card. Then popped it in the mac and the matrix file was there, then downloaded the .hwr file to my card and BAM! There it was. Thanks again for the help.

Anyone a Humminbird rep I could hire for an hour or two on the water to really learn my equipment? 1198 rear and 998 front. They are networked. I am in N Texas. Thx.

HB 898. What do you do when you are out of way point memory?

HB 898. What do you do when you are out of way point memory? You EXPORT your waypoint library to a memory card. Load that data to HumminbirdPC and manage them by location and/or delete the ones you don't really need. Then Format Nav Directories to purge your unit's memory and only load back what you need.

Look under the Nav menu tab. Open the Waypoints, Routes, Tracks menu and select Options. Next, select New which will have the New Waypoint as a submenu. The Create New Waypoint window will open and you can input your waypoint data manually.

Could someone tell me what I am seeing below about 10 ft. of water in this shot? (The fuzzy stuff, not the tree) Could this be thermocline or the lake starting to turn? Also, I know I probably dont have my unit "fine tuned", but I feel like the image should be a little more clear and show more detail of the tree on the down scan view. This is a farily large tree with a few large branches. My sensitivity setting in this shot on the DI and sonar are at a 12 I believe. Thanks!

Other than the added face, it could be either the thermocline or plankton. If it is present mid-day, it is the thermocline. If it disappears, it is plankton.

Just when you think you know the answers. Looking at Helix 7 si and now comes along the 899ci HD SI for 130 more. This is for kayak so I know I won't need ethernet. Are the XD maps and better color worth the price? I still think I will get the Helix but if I can get a better unit then it might be worth it. I see on HB website they use same transducer so I think images may be same but not sure. Already have a navionics card so that won't figure into price but if 899 already has it then maybe sell my current unit for more.

Already have a navionics card so that won't figure into price but if 899 already has it then maybe sell my current unit for more. The Helix 7 has Uni-map background which is basically just some color. It can only use the microSD card size. The 899 has ContourXD background which is 3000 locations with contours nationwide of the 2006 Navionics Hotmaps Premium locations. That is many thousands of locations it doesn't have. You can get the list of waters that XD has from the Humminbird website. Yes both come with the same SI transducer Compact SI (XNT 9 SI 180 T). The Helix 7 SI GPS just has the 455 kHz imaging frequency. The 899 has 455 kHz AND 800 kHz imaging frequencies. Both can use the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T Side Imaging transducer for sharper images. The display size and pixel count is the same. The Helix units have a brighter display. The 899 is being discontinued and replaced by the Helix series, that is why the cost difference is less now. Stuff the 899 can do that the Helix 7 SI GPS cannot do is link to another unit, support an external GPS antenna, has two memory card readers instead of one, and support Ethernet accessories.

My fishing is kayak 10-25ft looking for structure/bp's for crappie. Yes I do of the same place. I did that comparison to show why the HDSI transducer is a better choice no matter which SI unit you have. I'll PM you a link to the post on another site.
