I'm looking to have a HB Helix 5 DI/GPS installed on my Bass Tracker PT175TXW in the near future. I live in Burleson and I am looking for any suggestions/referrals on somewhere or someone to install it.
Thx

If I transom mount the Helix5 SI, when I run in reverse will the screen represent what the boat is over as opposed to what is behind it?

If I transom mount the Helix5 SI, when I run in reverse will the screen represent what the boat is over as opposed to what is behind it? The transducer is not a camera and the display is not a monitor. The only real time data is the very first row of screen pixels. All after that on the display is recorded history. The direction you are traveling makes no difference, the recorded data will be where you were. It a subject is not continoulsy being recorded on that first row of pixels, it is not within the coverage of the sonar pulse.

Thank you Wayne, that answers my question perfectly. So where I was will be under the boat as I move backward.

I've been through the owners manual and can't find how to get the DI screen on my Helix 5 SI. I want to use it for vertical jigging.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. You will not see your vertical presentation in the DI view unless the conditions are perfect, you are very skilled with boat operation and lucky. DI is a blend of the two SI pulses. That takes 2D. Check the VIEWS menu and set all to VISIBLE. Then scroll through the list with the VIEW button or EXIT button to display them.

Thank you Wayne. So I can get the DI screen, I just won't be able to see my jig? You will see your jig if you can keep it in the sonar pulse which is less than 6" wide front to back. That is the skill and lucky part. ALL Humminbird SI units have a DI view. Been that way since Jan 12, 2010.

My 798 on the bow works fine until I pull up the TM and move. It freezes 100 % of the time. power down won't work . I have to pull it and put it back on to get it going. It connected to TM battery ( has worked this way fine for years) . So it is not a low voltage caused by starting the big engine.
I took the connectors apart and re attached , no joy.
?? ideas ??
thanks

Can I download a file of waypoints received in an email in .hwr or .gpx format straight to a blank micro sd card and plug it straight into my Helix 5 to upload the waypoints? Or do I have to go through humminbird pc. I have a mac and can't use humminbird pc I don't believe. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
