I've got a 797C2 SI. I've noticed that the SI picture will start fading out at about 40 feet deep. Less than 40 and it creates a clear picture. My voltage indicator on the unit is reading 13.3...any ideas on what the problem may be?

Use the SI Sensitivity setting to compensate for depth, and bottom hardness.

I have a lot of clutter on my 1198. I have changed the sensitivity settings to next to nothing but still have clutter.

I have taken snap shots and have them on my computer but don't know how to post them on here.
I used to have a Transom Shield transducer saver but bent it down at falcon. That things sticks too low in the water. I moved the ducer up like the boat dealership recommended and still get clutter.

09 Skeeter 225zx with yammy 225.

Any help would be great.

New here, Im getting ready to buy a unit but I have a couple questions to get this adventure started...

1) Looking at the 999ci for my dash, for those of you with this unit or higher what are you using on your bow?
2) With these units getting better and better has anyone just gone to one unit on the dash (more money to spend on one unit instead of 2)?
3)Will the 698 and the Helix 5 talk to each other? Waypoint sharing?

I think Im looking at either the 999 instead in my dash or 698 for the dash and the Helix 5 on the bow...

Any thoughts or recommendations would be great...

I use 10" SI models at the console and bow.

None of the nine Helix 5 models will link to each other or any other unit with any connection.

Can I link the I-Pilot to a 898? Would it hook up via ethernet?

You can with the iPilot Link installed in the motor head.

It is an Ethernet accessory.

My trolling motor has the I-Pilot link, but the info. showing compatable Hummingbirds did not list the 898, so I just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

I have a brand new 2014 skeeter with a 798 in the console and I added a 999. I am having some issues and I wanted to see if I could get advice on what the issue(s) may be. I also have a 798 on the bow. The transducers for the 999 and 798 in the console are mounted flush with the bottom of the boat on each side of the livewell pumps and drain plug. My 999 is not near as clear as it should be and I have messed with the sensitivity and other settings a lot trying to clear it up and I am having no luck. When I use the trolling motor the 999 screen will start scrolling white where it should be reading the DI or SI. I am wondering if this could be a transducer issue or electrical. I was using the 798 in the console today and running the sonar. The sonar would keep freezing and I tried restarting the graph about 4 or 5 times and it continued to freeze. It would read for about 3 minutes and then freeze. I know this is a bit long, but any help on what I may need to do is appreciated. The photo is what I am seeing a lot of. It does clear up sometimes, but I know it should way more clear than this.
God Bless!

Did you connect the unit power cords directly to the battery and NOT to the boat wiring harness?

Is your battery fully charged and in good condition?

Are you operating both units at the same time?

Not exactly sure if the unit is hooked up directly to the battery or wiring harness. I had it installed. I have ran all 3 units at the same time and I now understand that causes interference. The batteries were fully charged and are brand new. Could my transducers be located in a bad area. I have planned on moving my 999 transducer to the jackplate in order to see if that helps.

Moving it to the jackplate will not prevent cross-talk, what it will do is lower the speed limit you can use for Imaging-cavitation will occur at a lower speed as the height above the hull bottom increases.

I see. Any advice on how to clear my images up to where they should be. I have messed with settings as well as had others change settings and it still is not as clear as it should be. This has been done with only running the 999 and all other graphs have been off. Would moving it to the jack plate help clear the images up or would this be a waste of time? Thanks for your help!!
