Thanks! You got me excited to go back out again. We got some rain coming up, so I don't know when I'll get back out. Tomorrow is probably the last good day until next week if the forecast pans out.

Nice fish!

That fish is also proof you'd better check tooth patches. As faint as the lines are (maybe it's just the pic), I know a lot of people would call that a sandbass if it was 14".

I went wading this morning north of Miller to see if some old spots were holding any fish. Creek is about 3 feet higher than I expected and even with cleats it was almost too muddy.Didn't have my rope, Mike.
Water was murky and bottom was muddy.Slow flow has allowed sediment to build up.
No bites no nada in two hours except for the mosquitos. Better bring your Deep Woods Off boys.
Friend said they weren't biting 'cause the cows were laying down. Guess I'm gonna have to check with the cows too from now on.

Cows laying down don't have anything to do with barely any fish going over those two dams at miller. We'll see what happens if we get some big rains this weekend.

Oh, it's definitely a Hybrid because of its size. I'm just saying the younger version of that fish could get someone a ticket because they thought it was a sandbass and didn't check the tooth patches. The game wardens can write tickets for that all day at the creek.

I appreciate your expertise heavy.
After checking with the cows I'll make sure I check with you.

Looks like the most of the rain is supposed to hold off until later. See you guys out there later today unless the forecast is wrong again.

It was pretty bad today, just three small males on minnows. No one else was really doing much either. The mosquitoes however were insane. They were biting me even though I was soaking in Deep Woods Off. I checked right below the bridge as well to see how deep the water was and if there were any fish all the way up there. It is more like a stream there, but the visibility is very clear. All I saw however was one small Gar.

Doug, camo hat with velcro patches, ugly stik gear bag.
