I was thinking you were sitting in a boat 47 feet off the bottom. I would have to have a center fielders arm to keep from blowing up my boat  Just wear a rain suit, you will do good on that color!

Banger, been catching these Black looking Crappie also, they are 6 to 8 inches tall but not very long and have been 1.75 pounds and smaller. Don't think they are big enough to weigh in at the tourney though. Anyways they sure pull hard.  Fun to catch and tasty too. Paul

 Bill, I hope you are getting all of this info. we may need it starting tomorrow. I don't know that my reel will hold enough line to fish 47 ft. off the bottom. In some places I think that will put me fishing over my head.(nothing unusual for me)

Bill, I hope you are getting all of this info. we may need it starting tomorrow. I don't know that my reel will hold enough line to fish 47 ft. off the bottom. In some places I think that will put me fishing over my head.(nothing unusual for me) Max, I do best fishing or holding the jig at eye level above the water, some times at 47 foot off of the bottom the jig is above my head also and that makes my arms tired. I just like seeing them aggressive male crappies, jump up out of the water and grab the jigs that are suspended above the surface. Try it. A few jumpers.   Good luck to everyone fishing CAT this weekend and stay safe!
