I know this is a stretch but I can't help but wonder if some of the folks that have had issues with the Hydrowave may have generated their own down fall from the other noises coming from their rigs???????

I guess I am going to have to tell my son he cant go anymore. Anyone ever tried to tell an 11 yr old to keep quiet for several hours? And succeeded?

I'd like to hear crankbaits w and w/o rattles... Spinnerbait.... Blades jig... Maybe even get ur boat over some rocks in like 11ft and drag a rig, tx rig and jig to hear the noise off the rocks!

Even though I'm also a long-time SCUBA diver with extensive experience, I still found the video/sounds extremely enlightening! Much of what was presented was as I had experienced myself in the past. My diving hadn't given me much exposure to trolling motors and power poles. I too had wondered if the after-market prop nuts provided any advantage.
I agree that voices can sound muffled to US when we are underwater, but remember our ears are optimized for a lower density environment (air) while the hydrophone is designed for the water. I don't think it's a stretch that predatory fish can hear better than we can imagine.

I do believe fish get used to their surroundings including noise. I think it was Doug Hannon who would leave his big motor idling when fishing in areas with lots of boat traffic thinking the fish where more used to that noise than the trolling motor.

Awesome video Gene! I remenber from scuba diving I would think a boat was about to run over the top of me then when I would come to the surface it was actually 1/2 mile away. no doubt at all we should all be a lot more quiet in the boat. I'm going to start tip-toeing lol

I think we think these little pea brain fish are rocket scientist. The things are opportunist feeders. A easy meal comes along they are going to eat.

Great Video Gene. Makes a lot of sense!
