The fish that he has done for me is awesome, some of the best detail work out there.
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

I agree, my sharelunker replica by lft is not even close to the actual fish I caught. Actually about 2 inches shorter and a completely different frame. Been thinking about getting 2 more 13's done together by fish scale. Great looking replicas

I'm going to say this....and it's my opinion to say....and I fully expect there are going to be some haters....but I don't care. In my personal opinion, LFT does a nice job, but every fish they do looks exactly the same. In the real world......there are no two alike. I've seen several LFT fish posted on here, other social forums and a few buddies mounts....and they all have looked identical to the 3 fish above.....lots of color and identical patterns. Maybe every fish caught on Fork looks like that....I dunno? I'm not saying they do bad work.....I just feel like every one looks the same.
I agree! That's the first thing I thought when looking at the 3 fish mounted, they look like clones! This was my exact same experience. They are great people at Lake Fork but I was disappointed in the things mentioned above with those replicas. They did my first 2. Plus the lack of attention to detail on the inside of the mouth, gills, etc bothered me. When I got the replica delivered from Fish Scale I was just shocked.

I like mine that Fish Scale did. It fell off the wall within a year and ruined it. Shipped it back to him and he did me another one for free. Thanks Fish Scale. I don't know how many will do that. There is a guy between Terrell and Wills Point that does them. He gave me a great price on my Axis deer in velvet. Half the price that any others priced. He does the mounts for Razzoo's and another restaurant chain.

My 12 LFT did was exactly on the mark length and girth. I made it a point that was important to me, the exact details to the scale weren't as important to me. FST appears to have amazing paint work, only complaint I've heard is delays and lack of communication. I have seen 500 posts about and from FST and never heard they did it part time, to me that's a pretty good excuse for the complaints I've heard prior.

So what is the turn-around time for Fish Scale being this is a "part time" occupation.

I'm not sure who does the replicas for Toledo Bend Lunker Association, but they do a great job as well. The small gold details definitely replicate a fish from Toledo.

So what is the turn-around time for Fish Scale being this is a "part time" occupation. He told me his standard turnaround time it 2-5 months. Like i said I got mine in about 10 weeks. Just call him and ask how backed up he is right now. he was very clear with me about that when I called him.

What does it cost to get a mount or replica done?
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

I had Fish Scale do my 10.5# about 3 years ago. It took over 6 months, and they went "underground" for weeks at a time, with no response to my emails or phone calls. The fish looks great on my wall, however, and I don't think about that when I look at her. In the end, the mount was beautiful and I'd definitely use them again.

Hiya guys. Yhea "went underground", the truth of the matter is we are now doing over a thousand fish a year and can't and don't have time to do anything much. Just getting on here doing this is taking time away from the shop. Lol Thanks for all the kind words. Yhea we had a few bad apples that went on tangents about time it was taking to get fish back to them but it's growing pains I guess. We went from a few hundred about 4 years ago to in 2014 had 1036 new work orders for the year and was still working on 2013. We are getting things streamlined and putting out fish faster and faster. With the same high quality! Had a few health issues on top of that but health and kicking butt!!! Turnaround time will never again be 90 days. We are doing great and would love to earn your business!

I have 2 (10 pound range) from LFT. They look good, and are impressive to walk past. One looks really close to the original, the other not as much. Unnatural in appearance are the mouth and gills, but I just assumed that was part of getting a replica. One mount's fins look more realistic than the other.
I sent an order for a 12.04 to Fish Scale in October. I haven't heard back yet, but I understood it would take awhile, and that they are really busy. I haven't tried to call, or bug, just know one day I will get notice, and then the excitement will begin to see the final product. They are doing a 360 degree, table top mount of the 12 sitting on a bed. It should be ridiculous, and I'll be happy to post pics when it arrives. Take your time Fish Scale. I want it to look awesome.
I live in Denton and have all my mounts at my office. If anyone wants to see what they look like vs the actual pictures, PM and I'll let you check them out. At some point in time, I'll have the Fish Scale 12, and I think I'll make a replica of a 10.20 caught on Roberts last Friday for a total of 4. It's nice to compare different mounts side by side to decide what you like, and don't like.

I wasnt impressed with my sal replica. Its much smaller than my skin mount 13 and the sal was much longer. Seemed like a quick mount instead of representing the fish better. I have a 10 from the Toledo lunker association replica program and it looks great. My next 2 will come from fish scale. I ve seen their work

I used LFT for my 11.81 caught in 2012. Very good turnaround time, but I assumed with a replica, it doesn't so much look life like. I guess that's not the case. The mount is alright but I will probably use FST for my next one that I catch this weekend, ha! I'd like to compare the two and then I can pick from personal experience any other that I may catch. And Dan, does catfish mounts cost as much as bass......if I were u, I'd mount 20lbers instead of those dink kitties you're talking about......
