I am in the market for a kayak to use in the creeks for white bass in the spring. I dont know anything about them and need to know what to get and what to stay away from. Sit in or sit on top? And anything else about them. I want a good kayak but dont want to spend over 400-500$ if possible. Thanks

you'll want a sit on top most likely. What build/ weight are you?

If it's only for creeks you want short and light.
Nothing longer than 12' but IMO you want 10' or 11'

I've never paddled one but it doesn't look comfortable. Especially the seat. for $100 more you could get this guy http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/heritage...amp;N=338461677Or this guy for $469 http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_1376724_-1?color=Purple&ICID=CRT:103210123 Honestly, I would try to pick something up second hand.

I am kinda leary on the seat on the tan heritage. I do like the way the redfish is set up and the seat also. Im not crazy about the red color but i guess i shouldnt be too picky on the color.

I'd go for either a heritage or pescador. Both are small, in your price range, and weight isn't a limiting factor for you.

I don't know if you are going to be lugging the kayak a long distance to get it in the creek. If you are, lighter is better.

I have the heritage angler 14 footer and it's awesome with lots of space and comfort. You can get the 12 foot version for 500.00. I just got the 14 footer cause it tracks great on the water. The smaller the yak the less it tracks well.
It's a great day because I'm not 6 feet under.

Someone just got it off craigslist today. Sorry man. Pescador 10 ft is a great kayak though. I used it in creeks and the big lakes as well.
