I don't know much about this yak other than it's made by Perception It's a 1 piece yak 33" wide 65lbs empty, has high weight capacity of 500lbs The molded in foot rest do NOT look comfy but it has 10 scupper holes built on measuring board and looks like it might catch some wind It does NOT appear to come with a seat at all but, it does look like a dry ride because the seat pan is elevated The only bad thing about an elevated seat is it raises your center of gravity which MAY CAUSE this yak to be less stable than it's 33" width suggest It should hold its value if not abused when it comes time to resale it. Unlike our local yak shops. U often have to ASK FOR A SEAT AT ACADEMY. Sometimes you get it & sometimes u don't. Being a clearance item, I also suggest you ask management about the warranty incase you need it. They will likely tell you that you'll need to take that up with the Manufacter after so many days If your looking for a SIT ON TOP (SIT) yak on a budget this may be it. Sorry, but there's just not a lot of reviews or additional info on this yak. But, here is the link to it on clearance. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores...D=CRT:103210220 If anyone finds a decent review would you kindly post it here?

Jimbo actually posted this video on athread of mine yesterday, I bought the Striker at the Academy in Arlington on Wednesday. So far I really like it, obviously haven't had a chance to get it out on the water yet but I started rigging it today. Link for the Cayman, which is the Striker just made by West Marine - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THZwLlhD4DcPics of mine:

upchurch, Nice crate and rod leashes. Did you make them yourself? The molded rod holders & it's overall length as well as weight suggest it would work well for river & creek fishing. The other yaks in the pics are not Perception Strikers.

Yes sir made the leashes myself, little bit of paracord and carabiners. FishZombie, do you use the higher "fishing" seat very often? Here's a better picture of the crate with the leashes.

FishZombie, do you use the higher "fishing" seat very often? I dont curently own a Striker upchurch. But, to answer your question, Yes. My legs appriciate me moving to a higher position after many hrs of sitting low in my current kayak. I can carefully stand up and sit on the highest portion of the yak This gets tail up & my legs stretched out. Sometimes i'll sit on top of the cooler too. Just depends what the water temps r & how brave im feeling at the moment

No I actually picked that up at the Academy over by my house. Not sure if it was clearance or just in the wrong spot but I got it for $29.99.

upchurch_k , when you post your review let us know how was the tracking. On some reviews I found, the tracking was one of the cons. The pictures I've seen on the video they showed the bottom and it is a precise molded tri hull design, and it should track well without a rudder in my opinion. It's also a very deep sided kayak which means there is a lot of freeboard and it may catch a lot of wind. It looks to have plenty of flat areas to add slide tracks allowing you to mount accesories and remove them easily. Personally, I think it's positives outweigh the negatives, and it looks like a really solid kayak at a great price.
