Toledo Bend has to be as close to heaven on earth as you can get if you are a bass fisherman

Fished the tournament on Rayburn Saturday. It was tough. Only had 2 fish. 308 boats. 140 weighed in. I know a lot were money anglers so they probably threw back sacks they knew wouldn't get paid. We did not weigh our 2 because were are not able to complete the series so points wouldn't help us. We caught ours on Carolina Rigs using a baby brush hog and a zoom magnum worm in green pumpkin, dipped the tail in chartreuse. Both fish before 9 am nothing after that. Creek channels on the grass lines. Ill be back in 2 weeks for another tournament. Hope it was different for others. Winning team had 35.95.

Rayburn and Toledo are truly awesome fisheries. If you do not go to both you are missing out. Glad to see you took a break from beating up on those Hubbard fish.

Bass don't bite at Rayburn. That was a fluke. The water level is usually 11' lower. The grass is dying. It's always way more crowded that what you saw. Don't move here. Bad choice. Continue to visit Fork - the more boats that are in Fork the higher the water level is. Is it just me, or does this make everyone else want to go to rayburn even more Really? You don't think so? I was thinkin' by me saying that it would keep a few people from wanting to come fish Rayburn. Dang, I hope you're not right.

These bodies of water are what Lake Conroe could be if people and organizations would leave it alone. Yes, I know it had grass in it in the past. That's my point. Yes, I know it's produced some very big fish in the past. That makes my point even more. I live 23 minutes from Inland Marina, and I never use this lake.
