Just count the good times not the money. When you are dead and gone no one will talk about how much money you had. They will speak of all the good times you had.
A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user- Theodore Roosevelt Broken Bow Lake Fishing Guide 2020 Caymas CX 20 PRO and 250 SHO

A lot! Got a small bass tracker once its paid off in about a month it will have costs me 14-15K total. 2K on rods/reels. Probally 500-1000 per year on tackle. Gas/food/drinks a bunch. Heck you could even throw in my house 163K was bought on a mostly private 35 acre lake (bass/bream/crappie)plus another $600 for a canoe for to float the lake!
Wife understands...ish. She doesn't mind me fishing and at times encourges me to go out.

Gas, boat (a really crappy one), tackle, travel, tournaments, etc? At least 100 grand over the past decade.

Last year alone I spent over 18K just on new electronics, power poles and lets not forget that block rebuild and new lower unit. Hull repair ( I hate you Lake Ray Hubbard) you and your dang submerged stumps! That new Motorguide 108lbs thrust trolling motor and a good divorce lawyer!

I've spent my entire life and consider it a good investment.
