I fish as a hobby. Its truly something I love and enjoy to do. But everything has a price. With only a handful of tournaments under my belt in which I really just donate.... lol... im just the average guy who tries to get on the water 2 to 3 times a month..... But even with that when I add up what ive spent on boats, rods, reels, lures, navionics, gear, gas, oil, insurance, ramp fees, entry fees and so on..... Its absolutely crazy and insane what we spend on this lil fishy to have fun.... I only have 12 grand in my basscat and after every thing else is added up its an easy 40000 over the last ten years.... I know some may not even want to think about..... and some who can afford so much that it doesn't matter.... but for someone as myself who is just barely getting by its insane the money that I have shelled out for this little green fish...... Please realize im not complaining. im just wondering how much others have sacrificed????

Small fortunes. To make it seem even worse, now figure out how much those bass have cost you per pound.

I do not sit around and worry about it. If I got it to spend and want something, I buy it.

Well.....I fish both professionally and as a hobby. Sort of, I operate a hatchery and a fishing/hunting club in Brazoria County and I go fishing whenever I get a chance, which is too seldom. But the chase for me hasn't been all about BASS, although BASS has been a central and continuing part of my existence.

So, with a few exceptions, I'd have to say I spent roughly two thirds of my lifetime to this point.

I done got kinda old, and these days I'm also chasing GOLD in the rivers and elsewhere, but I have not quit chasing BASS and doubt I ever will.

BTW, for whatever reason, while everybody at my club has been chasin' DUCKS, the BASS have been bitin' really good.

I'd havta try and look at expenditures vs. revenues to see where I'm at on the actual dollars and cents as I done raised and sold A LOT of BASS in my time.
