Made a new friend yesterday, JT Russell cheers
He normally fishes out of a yak. Both him and his wife have 1 and spend their free time on the water thumb

We started out fishing slip corks set 7' deep around a brush pile in 12 fow. I had found this bp early on and just knew it would hold some sooner or later.
Guess that day got here banana
I had forgotten how much fun it is to see you cork jump and then sink outta sight clap

James was the 1st to hook up clap

We were catching our fish on the new E Tex Killer with a 1/32 pink jig head. Belinda & I found out a little too late last Wednesday, that some pink in your set up was needed, and it played true again yesterday

Ended up with 5 beauties there cheers

Although it was calm there, we were tucked behind a point in a cove, I could tell the wind was getting up out in open water

We ran to quite a few spots in 18 fow, catch 1 or 2 and then off to search some more.

I was right about the wind getting up, it kept us off of most of the places I had been fishing. We attempted to brave it out on a main lake point, but the boat was getting blown around and up & down so bad I gave it up very quick. Ran into a cove and pulled into the trees behind a secondary point right atop a bp in 11'. Immediately started catching fish bannana2

I need to get out and search shallow for some more places. The fish we caught for the most part were in 12' or less of water. I did mark some other places, but the wind kept us off of them bang

James ended up going home with 14 nice slabs food

The Electric chicken was responsible for some of the fish, they don't have a problem hitting something with pink when you find them hooked

Thanks James for making a tough day on the water fun thumb

Nice trip!! Got a couple hours in the other day and got to put those Lil Fry I got from you to work. Really impressed with em! Caught nearly all our fish in 10-12 FOW swimming the jigs over piles. I caught 20 on the first Lil Fry before I retired it for another one. They sink a little faster than the hand ties I use and have the same profile. Both a win as far as I'm concerned! I probably need to find a better 1/16oz head cause mine was splitting some of the bodies trying to install them, but its been quite a while since I've fished much with plastic so alot of it could be operator error!!

Anyhow! I'll be back for some more whenever I get a chance to get back on the water!!

Todd, I use a round ball head with no keeper. My keeper is Super Glue thumb

Try a 1/32 for a super slow fall

Winter bite hasn't kicked off yet. My arm could get twisted enough to make a trip up to Fork. I've bass fished Fork but never wet a crappie jig there.

Thanks so much for the fishing trip, Todd. You have definitely made a new friend, catching fish always makes friends! Haha. Regardless if we caught any or not it was pleasure meeting you and working over those crappie.

Early morning was great on this slip corks! Those were all nice fish! You might have to rename spot 544 into the "hail Mary" spot laugh

Looking forward to doing it again sometime

Guys, if you have the chance stop by and see Todd, you won't find anyone better!

Also, hats off to this forum, have met a few people from here, talked to a few, and it dont get any better!

Fishin' is better than workin, catchin is better than fish in'!
