Made a new friend yesterday, JT Russell
He normally fishes out of a yak. Both him and his wife have 1 and spend their free time on the water

We started out fishing slip corks set 7' deep around a brush pile in 12 fow. I had found this bp early on and just knew it would hold some sooner or later.
Guess that day got here

I had forgotten how much fun it is to see you cork jump and then sink outta sight

James was the 1st to hook up

We were catching our fish on the new E Tex Killer with a 1/32 pink jig head. Belinda & I found out a little too late last Wednesday, that some pink in your set up was needed, and it played true again yesterday
Ended up with 5 beauties there
Although it was calm there, we were tucked behind a point in a cove, I could tell the wind was getting up out in open water
We ran to quite a few spots in 18 fow, catch 1 or 2 and then off to search some more.
I was right about the wind getting up, it kept us off of most of the places I had been fishing. We attempted to brave it out on a main lake point, but the boat was getting blown around and up & down so bad I gave it up very quick. Ran into a cove and pulled into the trees behind a secondary point right atop a bp in 11'. Immediately started catching fish

I need to get out and search shallow for some more places. The fish we caught for the most part were in 12' or less of water. I did mark some other places, but the wind kept us off of them

James ended up going home with 14 nice slabs

The Electric chicken was responsible for some of the fish, they don't have a problem hitting something with pink when you find them

Thanks James for making a tough day on the water fun
