TFFers,
I was planning on taking off work later this week and fish Fork. I see good posts from Mr. Perry on a shallow bite(GREAT!). I've also read the lake is turning over too.
So, Is the turnover done, just starting?
Just asking, is it worth it this weekend or try later in the month?

What's the water temp looking like? Ill be there for TXBCOE this weekend and just wanted to know what temps to expect. This cool front will bring them down a little I'm sure. Thanks in advance. Mark, I saw that your new swimbaits are at APT now. They are looking good. hope to catch a few on them this weekend if the conditions get right. I've still got the ones you had at the APT summer sale. They are great baits.

Headed out later this afternoon and will fish a different area. Thanks on the baits. Hope they do well for you. I have been rolling the 4" with a belly weight hook over grass. Hopefully that bite gets better.

The flipping bite fizzled out a bit today with the exception of a BIG catfish I stuck on a stump in 10'. Really thought it was the one when it knocked the hell out of my bait..... Did manage to get them to bite in the pads. Lots of fish in them but they are finicky. Finally figured out they wanted a Reaction Innovations Trixie Shark in bullfrog slow rolled almost as slow as I could and still keep legs moving. Also had to pause it if they missed it and then start it back in action slowly and they would come back and take it. Lots of fun and they really turned on once I started throwing that bait. Did get 2 bites on the 4" swimbait but they would not commit.

Today was weird. Perfect conditions this morning but zero activity. Did grind out a couple of bites on hollow body frog but it was slow. Moved back out on points flipping timber in less than 8' and finally got things going. Stayed midlake today. Bites were very light today but size was a little better. Lots of bait moving up. I really think it's about to bust wide open. I am looking forward to tommorrow since it's the day before the front.

Man this lake kicked my butt and the guides butt. Guide was skunked. Fished from 7am - 5pm. Fished up until 10min before the sky opened up and we had 80mph winds blow through.
That guide worked hard all day looking for even one bite and never found one. So frustrating.

Keep moving til you find the fish! The fish are in a transition now so let them dictate how your day goes! Lots of fish still in the 11-22 foot range and will group up better then the shallow fish! Roadbeds and humps have feeding fish on them along with a bunch of schoolers suspended around these areas!

Super nice day on the water-Sun looked abit meaner with strong winds.

was there for 3 days last weekend. caught all of my fish on a drop shot on stump points. they were all in 11 feet of water. I think the turn over has them holding at very specific depths.
