I have to take guests there and have never been. I do not bass fish, only striper. I know they are not there but I have to go anyway, any info or help would be great. I will be taking my 20' CC boat. Do they have sand bass there?

leanahorse, there are no sandbass in Cypress. When are you going?

There are huge sandbass in Cypress Springs. Just not a lot of them. Troll deep diving cranks over the main lake points and you will catch spotted bass

Just drive over to Bob Sandlin. Tons of Sand bass in there.

I have to take some guests about 10-14 or so, I just mentioned sand bass as something for them to catch, It will be mostly a boat ride I imagine, I tried to change their minds to Texoma or Tawakoni but no way they are dead set on going there.

Used to live on Cypress Springs. Skeeter Ronnie is correct, there are a few Whites in the lake, just not huge numbers. There are also very large bream beads up in the creeks. Largemouths are also found and decent sized. The real producer on this lake is the Crappie. Find submerged timber or a submerged creek channel and you will find the papermouths. Many of the Sea Walls around the homes have deep holes 5 to 10 feet out from the walls where the construction barges put down their stabilizing anchor. Those holes can be quite productive. A small sliding bobber with light tackle works great in locating them.

Thanks to all who responded, I am still trying to get them to go elsewhere, but I imagine I am going to have to go to CS, my plan B is to come back by Tawakoni on the way home for the PM fishing.

As mentioned, we've caught some huge sandies there off of points using big flutter spoons for bass (spoons were 5"). But, it's hit and miss if you're looking for those. I mostly bass fish there although I know the crappie fishing can be good too if you can use your electronics. I would definitely press your friends to try a different lake if sandies/hybrids/stripers are the game plan.

Thanks, they are not serious about fishing but very serious on wanting to go there, I am just going to make a nice boat ride day of it and let them cast some then come in and have a good meal. I really like the idea of stopping by Tawakoni on the way back, they will still be at CS camping. We put 53 to 8# yesterday in the boat at Tawakoni and left them biting good. Tawakoni is very good now.
Are there lots of stumps or shallow spots in CS?

Your right on trying to get them to go elsewhere but that won't happen.
What kills me is for the same or less fuel I could go to Texoma instead!!!!!!!!!!!

Book Jay and see if you could to a trail boat session for sand bass or spots.

Except for one small cove and maybe a few above the bridge (close to shore) there are no stumps to worry about on Cypress.
