Thought I'd post a report from one of the lakes I'm starting my guiding career on, with word of club tournaments coming up out here. The fishing has been pretty good for this time of the year with numbers on the high end and some good ones mixed in. Today I took Brandon out from noon to 6 pm and we caught 15 keepers and lost count of the short fish with a couple of good fish mixed in. The morning bite has been decent on yellow magics around retaining wall corners on the main lake and also on swim jigs and frogs around shallow docks and any shoreline grass and Lilly pads you can find. The afternoon bite has been way better for me on road beds, points and brush piles. I've been catching these fish on 6 XDs, flutter spoons, Heath Taylor's strokin shad swimbaits on a santone s3 head and santone football jigs in okie craw and bass candy blue. I've also been catching some decent fish on deeper main lake docks with brush around them on 5/16 oz santone finesse jigs in river bream color. Good luck to everybody fishing this weekend! Great day on a lake that has been fishing tough. I've known Jay for several years and recommend taking a trip with him if you want to learn more about the tri lakes.

Congrats on the new venture Jay. When Heath and I were fishing last weekend he told me you were getting started. I will definitely send some folks your way if i hear them looking for a trip. anyone interested in Cypress Spring, Jay knows that lake as good as any and some of his tourney results out there prove it.
