My partner and I tried it on McGee Creek in Oklahoma a few weeks ago. We were skeptical at first but they do catch fish. I didn't see the video on how to use them till now. We used 8 and 10 pound test line and bait cast setups. I can understand how lighter line would be more effective though. It is an unusual method, it does not seem like the bait is doing anything during the retrieve but when you get it up where you can see it, those little blades are spinning like crazy and the bait does have a subtle wobble. Best for clear water lakes. We are gong to try them on Broken Bow Lake in a week or so. The baits seem to be of a very high quality level. I will be trying it again with lighter line on a spinning rod.

If you are looking for the essentials on spybaiting technique, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS3idsy52Hw would be a good start. The playlist also includes several additional videos giving clues about how to utilize the technique the most efficiently, be it line tying or gear.

this is really nothing new...Walleye fisherman have been doing it for decades up North using countdown Rapala's for suspended fish...what this looks like is a $14 countdown Cordell Boy-Howdy...LOL...I'm not knocking it, I've got a bunch of old Boy-Howdy's with the paint wore off...

I'm with jigfish and hopalong. first: hel no,,,, no more "new" baits @ $14 second: slip shots work great for this kind of action....just crimp them on and let that top water chugger fall to 15 feet and pop it back under water. Sounds funny,,, but try it.

I personally prefer the original spinbait 80 been using it on Lake Austin, Canyon Lake, and Belton with great success. You have to reel it in very slow or slower. I use 10 lb test line and have been able to pull in 6 lb plus with no problems.

All three of the Duo Realis Spinbait have been really taking off in central Texas especially now with the heat. Something every finesse fisherman needs to have in their arsenal...

How do you guys crimp on the split shot weights without crimping or fraying your line? Seems like it would have to damage it.

I crimp it down real tight so it doesn,t slide at all. Never have i had line break due to the crimped weight & i do it a lot. when i m fishing weightless senkos and think i need it to drop a littlt faster or go thru weeds i,ll add a crimped split shot. I do not use the reusable round ones. I use the longercegg shaped ones. I will also use them to make quick C Rigs of my T Rig set ups.

I crimp mine with my teeth. I put it on the line and close it by hand, then bite down until my teeth are sinking into the lead and it won't slide. I probably lose an IQ point each time but it's the way I've been doing it since forever.

Remove the rear spinner from a Hellbender then tie a floating 5" worm on it. Pause the retrive see what happens. Oh wait this new tech needs a funny name and it's brand new. Splitshotting is older than me. Try not to be too gullible experiment with your fishing stuff. To those that have to be told this is the only way to do things there is no hope for you.
Here is a tip Rod used to fight or play the fish Reel used for line storage. The winch and drag tech was made famous by Harry and Charlie Bassmaster cartoon characters.

When I read the part of the propeller and fishing deep it reminded me of the pre-rigged plastic worm with propeller from many years ago. Never tried one myself but remember chuckling to myself when first seeing one and then later hearing about a friend new to bass fishing catching a monster on one. http://www.basspro.com/Creme-Rigged-Scou...pid=31513_Black

I've been catching some on the DUO spinbait 90. It's a cool bait that does really well on suspended fish. I've been using 10# fluorocarbon and reeling it very slowly back to the boat.
