They use to put chains up behind the docks on Lewisville, more so than now. But my buddy and I would go back there and take the chains down and proceed fishing. It pissed some people off and they would come yell and harrass us, but it's public water, they are the ones breaking the law..
Another time I pulled into a normal spot we fished at the main walkway to pier 121 and this guy comes out and asks if i have a slip in the marina?? I said no sir and he says that I have to leave, that the marina owned all the water in the marina. I said yeah right, ok.... He got really pissy with me and I was fishing a tourney and had people watching us catch fish while this was going on. He storms off and comes back saying he's gonna call the police on me. I told him go ahead and turned the boat and said make sure you get my numbers right ok.... So he storms off again. Meanwhile the people watching are laughing and talking to me about how big a pain he's being. Well he comes back and kind of apologizes saying that someone had given him the wrong info. Ok, great!! Not 5 minutes later a police car comes up and he goes running over talking to the cop and pionting at me. I had enough, i beached the boat and walked over and asked the cop if there was a problem? The cop said the guy was trying to tell him that I wasn't supposed to be there. I got fired up! But the cop told me to go on and fish there all i wanted, there was no such law . Thanks Mr. Cop..... Never have seen that jerk again....

We were fishing on Lake Worth this weekend and got close (50 ft) to the keep out area of the base and a military cop started yelling at to leave. Finally he gave us a final warning. We stayed anyways because we were on the main lake and not behind the buoy. He called another cop and they just stood on the shore and looked at us. I have an active military ID so they couldn't have done much anyways but it was annoying.

He told me once the same thing thinking I was going to scurry off, we pulled all the way up docked the boat and went inside clearly showing him we knew the rules of the barge. For years Pancho has been selling bait, hooks, drinks and restroom service to fishermen; the look on his face when I bought 20$ worth of [censored] was priceless..
