Coleman lanterns.... propane last a while and keep from burning up your batteries. There's a lot to be said for old school tactics. I use many different led lights, but for a catfish all-nighter, you can't beat a Coleman lantern. Any light will work fine for lighting up the area, but the lantern remains supreme in one category; the ability to deposit dying, half-fried bugs into your fishing hole all night long.

I put a 16 ft strip of RGB LED's on an 8' PVC pole that fit into a vertical rod holder on my console. I can change them to any color I want and they plug into the cig lighter. Hay Medic, please show us some pictures.

Hey medic what did you make them stick to the pole with ? good idea plus I have 2 strips of rgb lights I just removed form side of my boat I used 3M adhesive spray along with the 3M strip on the lights. Then I superglued the last 6" on either end as well to make sure it didn't come loose. Then I covered the wire with white duct tape. It really lights up all the pro angler rod tips at night. I have a couple poles that didn't have reflective tips, so I just painted them with fluorescent paint.

Nice rig Txmedic033 I like the different colors...Another option is to use a 800 watt AC/DC inverter with a cigg plug on it... I can run those "coil" type light bulbs on the 110v power and put the bulbs way up high on a 12ft. extendable paint pole when fishing at night. I am using TWO-100 watt (23 watt draw) coil bulbs (buy the DAYLIGHT not soft white bulbs) to light up my entire 25ft. pontoon boat and the water around the boat Most days the bugs stay up by the light lol... I can usually see good enough to tie a knot and they'll run all night off a 27D trolling motor battery plus I run a 110v aquarium aerator for the live bait well to with no problems .They also sell a 100 watt inverter that just plugs into the cigg plug that's around 20.00 that should run just the bulbs also.
