I have a boat close to your 519 Ranger, Mine is a Basscat Pantera with one 8' Power Pole Pro. I don't plan on buying another anytime soon unless I run across extra cash. It works fine; you just have to position the boat the direction you want to fish before deploying the pole. Once the wind turns the boat it stays pretty well in the same spot...it does not spin you in circles! I will agree 2 would be nice, but one works fine for me fishing humps when water is less than 7'.

(2) Pro Series poles. The Sportsman have cheap foreign pumps that are loud and not that great. And yes, I have owned them. I have had 3 different sets.

Saved by the Lord... glad to be an Aggie!

I would like to correct my statement. I have the Pro Seeries 2, same pump as all the other higher end poles.

I would disagree. I'm blessed with a pair but my buddies Legend fishes pretty good with a single. Two is better...no doubt. But one is very handy and certainly a lot more than 25% of 2. His held us on a rock hump on Falcon with a 25mph wind and swells coming over the transom. Bilge pump ran non stop and that single pole was very impressive with it's holding power. If your budget is tight two is not 400x better than one.

I had one Pro series on my Legend for several years. I will say two look cooler, but one did me just fine. I remember one time I was fishing a brush pile in 15' of water off a point. In a steady 15 mph wind, I dropped the pole in 7'of water and used the trolling motor to keep the nose pointed into the wind. I sat there and caught a fish from 2-4 lbs on every cast for over an hour. Every few fish, I'd retie (and cull). While doing so, the boat would spin around, but I'd just step on the trolling motor and spin the boat around and be right back where I needed to be to make the right cast. The whole time i had that boat, I never felt like I needed another power pole!
