I got one. It's on the list to get tried.Got to be better ones out there. Don't throw the hooks that come with the around big fish or you will get your heart broke. I had a big smallie straighten one out last weekend. It was a toad. 5 pounds at least.

We got on fish last summer with A-rigs and were catching 80-100 fish a day. This lasted for about 3 weekends. We broke off a lot of wires until we started reached down and grabbing the fish in the water. Don't swing the fish in the boat and let him flop around with the rig in his mouth. This doesn't prevent them from breaking, but it does seem to prolong the inevitable.

Me either for a while. Finally kind of figured out the deal. Throw 1/8oz heads and swimming fluke jrs in smoking shad. Works good in clear water.

this is an interesting thread for me. wires breaking on umbrella rigs is something that i have read over and over many times. at NuTech we are working on a frame that has bend technology to make the issue at least not a common one. as stated, wire can break anytime. however, i have NuTech SpinJig wire frames that date back to the early nineties and have caught hundreds of bass and are still like new. so, far with our proto-type models that are being fished, we have not had a wire break yet. like with anything i design, i like lots of hours of fishing with the product to make sure it will perform for the fisherman and last. very interesting reading everyone's comments for sure.

You can catch giant crappie on them.

The Picasso Baitball Jr is an awesome alternative to the Flash Mob. Far more durable!

Not an issue, if you hang them up and end up having to break them off after 6 or 7 casts. Like someone I know....

I have had the Yumbrellas break wires off after about 100 casts many times, just nature of the game. Then SK Titanium has broken off more than any other (at the clasp that the line connects to)!more than any A-rig and I won't be buying another one. I thought about calling SK about it I was so pissed the last incidence.

I even bought a brand new one in the package and it only had 4 wires. Mismade. I think I will gather all the ones that break on me and send them to YUM with an explanation and see what they do. I know that they should last longer than they do for what you pay for them.

It's a fishing lure... the measure of its durability should likely be how many fish it survives catching, not in time used, as time isn't degrading the lure, use is. That said I would imagine the rest of a persons setup could also affect it quite a lot. In the end, if it wasn't producing at a valuable enough rate to justify it, you wouldn't keep buying them to catch more fish, right? You don't sound like the most reasonable consumer.

What it they made on that was 10x more durable but caught 1/10th as many fish, or 1/10th the quality of fish? Would you purchase that or the one that catches 10x as nice or 10x as many fish? Just sayin...

perhaps a live target baitball crankbait would be a more durable bait ball presentation for your liking? Or perhaps this will work better for you since the A-rig isn't up to your expectations? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Manns_Three_For_All/descpage-MTFA.html

I've used a few brands, even had some custom made with titanium. They all break, I just chalk it up to being part of fishing. And expensive technique if you aren't prepared for it. Pretty much any time I've caught a fish over about 7lbs on one, it's lost an arm shortly after. The Flash Mob do seem to be the weakest.

And like a few guys said. . .god forbid you catch a big hybrid or a striper on one, cause it'll be one and done.

The best way I've found to prolong the life of the wires is to bend them out about a half inch after they come out of the head as opposed to bending them right where they come out. You just pinch all the wires together with your fingers directly behind the head and hold tight when spreading them out.
