Sorry guys, this post is mainly to brag. I've been stuck on a 9.1 pound PB from O.H. Ivie for a while now. It was an 8-14 from Falcon before that. The elusive double digit bass has kept hidden from me until now.

My buddy Ron and I booked a trip with Doug King from Pro Bass Adventures to Lake Baccarac and the fishing was so much fun. We had "horrible" numbers by their standards. The first day was 16 fish, the second day was 15, and the third day was only 12. HOWEVER.... We had a 39.5 pound stringer the first day, at 41.8 pound stringer the second, and a 44.1 pound stringer the third. I would estimate that we caught 10 fish below 4 pounds. It was eight pounder after eight pounder. How can this be? Where were all of the dinks? I have no idea but huge balls of tilapia and shad everywhere. It's no wonder these fish "weren't biting". Again.... their words. I was a kid in a candy store.

I want to show you guys a couple of the 8s and 9s so you can see how swollen they were. The fattest fish I've ever seen. Almost no blemishes too. You can hardly find a red speck on any of them. I guess what I'm saying is I've never seen such fat, happy and healthy fish that fight like CRAZY.

8.5 pound football

9.3 pound fatty

8.3 pound chunk

10.33 pound NEW PB

10.29 pound almost new PB the next day

I don't endorse a whole lot as that isn't the point of this post. However, if you have any interest in getting in on some of this action you can easily find Doug King with Pro Bass Adventures on the internet and if you have trouble with that I will give you his info. It was the most fun I've had fishing in a very, very long time. There was a whole lot of high fives and toasting to Pacificos.

Tight lines,

Jackson

Hey Bissett,

In the early mornings we were throwing weightless Zoom Mag flukes in the white ice pattern. But.... 90% of the big fish came on XD10s. Who would have thought? Our guide Antonio knew the lake like the back of his hand. Because the lake fluctuates so much he has seen every hump, cliff, channel, etc. for most of his adult life.

Doug R. above sold me on this cranking rod that has changed my cranking immensely. We hired Keith Combs years ago on Falcon and he was a big fan of the parabolic style glass rods. I had forgot about that and was just killing my hands, arms, shoulder, etc. When I fished with Doug he reminded me of the differences in a glass rod which allowed me to throw deep divers for three days with zero fatigue. A year ago I would have been stove up and dying after that trip.
