If I didn't cook a huge amount of fish with it, I put it in jars and refrigerate it, use one more time, and then toss it - canola oil.

I keep mine in the garage, in the original container, strained before i put it away

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I strain it and put it back in the original jug. I do not refrigerate it. I use Canola oil also.

Read a recent study found Canola oil was marginally better for you than olive oil.

I strain in through a small screened strainer with a handle on it.

I use A fine strainer to dip my cooked fish with then I run the strainer through the grease. That keeps the corn meal off the bottom of the cooker so it does not start to burn. After I finish cooking and the grease cools a little I use Harbor Fright paper cone strainer for paint set down inside a funnel. You can get a box of 100 of those paper strainers fo about 6 or 7 bucks.Storing in the freezer re using it not over 3 times
