I just traded boats with someone, and I have a question about the Registration numbers (TX-Numbers). The boat it green, and the numbers that are currently on the boat are camouflage. I read somewhere that the TX numbers should have a lot of contrast with the background color. Though it wouldn't cost me much to remove them and put on some white ones, I like the way the current ones look. Am I legal or not?

If you can read them pretty easy.

The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything. Remember what He has done and remember that He is not done yet!-- GOD IS GOOD

I mean, the previous owner got by for years without having an issue. Wasn't sure if it was up to the judgment of the Game Warden. Maybe I'll just put some new ones on. You can read them if you are close, but probably not from far away.

It is a judgement call from what I have experienced. I got a warning for light blue letters on a silver boat, the GW said they didn't contrast enough. I could read them but I guess he needed glasses.

It depends on how much you want to push it and where you fish. There are places I fish a lot and never see a GW. If they really wanted to they could write thousands of tickets for spacing on numbers and tags. Read the instructions on the sticker and then next time at the lake look at how many boats are non-compliant.
