Made a short trip out on Palestine with the family on Saturday and got lucky and found a few nice hybrids. Had to check a few spots but finally found the hybrid corn rows on the side image. The boys started catching fish right off until the big one hooked up. Younger son fought him around the boat like a pro. When we finally got him in the boat he went 8-0 on the digital scale and they were fired up. Their good friend Luke has the junior lake record currently at 7.23# and they had been wanting to match him for a couple of years now. So I made a call to Creekside Sports in Chandler and made sure the certified scale was available for use. They told us to come on over so we headed that way. By the time we made it up there the fish weighed in at 7lb 10oz. Got the application filled out and pictures printed to mail to TPWD for hopefully new record. All fish were caught in 15-18 fow on a custom swim bait by SBC tackle on an "erratic" retrieve

Thanks again Jarrett and Creekside Sports for helping make the day memorable. I also got to use it as an excuse to get up there and pick up a few deep diving Bonehead crank baits. Man they look good and supposed to get down to 21 feet. Those hybrids love those cranks.
