Here's my older son and I with a couple of toads caught out in front of our dock recently after dark. The bigger females bite better after it quiets down. They were quickly released after the photo session. I hope these two boys appreciate having a place at Fork to grow up on!

I want to be adopted also,I swear I'll keep my room clean and help around the house, and to answer your question not until they grow up and have kids of their own!But enjoy your time together it will be sooner than you would like it to be.

What is that.. a 7 and a 8.5? I think I will get in line for the long lost children. What a lake that is.
I'm sure they appriciate it. I make sure to thank my parents/grandparents for spending/using their hard earned money for me to go to college. But like Rudy says, you learn to appriciate it even more as time goes on.

I'm blessed to have three great kids (a 16 year old daughter between the 22 and 3 year old boys), a fantastic wife and a beautiful weekend home on Fork. All you guys can be my adopted family as we share the passion of this great sport. Nothing beats sharing and passing it on to family and friends. Take your kids and grandkids at every opportunity. Most importantly, don't forget to share your time on the water with parents and grandparents. Now, if you start asking for the GPS coordinates of my brushpiles...
TTU - You're almost spot on as these were 8.85 and 7.05 on my digital scales. By the way, you can pick up these digital shipping scales with .05 increments on line for about $25. I've checked them against calibrated scales and they're real accurate.

I have never fished off a pier for black bass at night. What do you fish with ??? Just curious.
I second everyone else...congratulations on a wonderful life.

Do you have a light out over the water or do you use beads to provide a clicking sound ???
I just can't see having a lot of success at night fishing plastics.

Mudcatt,
Night fishing is one of the best times to throw big plastics, jig/craws, etc. Bass have a keen sense of prey moving through the water as sensed through their lateral line. They don't necessarily "see" the bait before striking. Rangerkev is right, you should try it this summer.

I'm not new to fishing but am definitely a rookie when it comes to night plastics. Where would you concentrate your efforts if you can't see your casting target? Creeks, hydrilla, stumps?
I know Fork is special but it can't be that easy.
