Many times while I am on the lake and fishing structure, boats pull up with very loud engines and moving very fast causing wakes and often running into the structure where the crappie are holding causing the bite to shut down temporarily.Crappie are spooked very easily and we all should take a stealth approach when entering our fishing area..Even more worse when they"boats" leave the area they take off full throttle...

Unfortunately, that is just part of fishing there now(Lavon). The boats do not really do anything other than maybe a minute or two to the bite, the fish are used to it.
I have fished that lake for 40 years and just recently have gotten used to people getting really close, it is hard to bite your tongue when someone comes up and ties to the same tree you are fishing, I guess that's just part of it now, I would never do it though.
About 8 years ago I was fishing a stump in 3 feet of water and some guy pulls his boat up and ties to the stump, almost hitting my boat, and acted like nothing was wrong, I about came unglued, some people are just idiots.
I can remember fishing that lake in May and never seeing another person with a jigging pole in his hand, saw several people out fishing minnows but never anyone jigging, that was before Wally Marshall though.
Times have changed my friend.

im 19 andi was like 15 i had a 12 ft john boat and i was on ray hubbard by 66 fishing for crappie in the summer and a wake board boat came within feet of me and swamped my boat and it sunk needless to say i reported them to the state and they had to pay for a brand new boat and motor with the fish finder because they saw me and ignored me.

Angler courtesy and people skills in general are rapidly diminishing. Between the crappie snobs and the pleasure boaters with no sense sometimes your defensive fishing abilities are put to the test. I like stealth and "hunting" for crappie also. Great reminder JE.

Crappie Snobs? Crappie Snobs you say....Hmmm, that is an interesting perspective...Never thought of crappie fishermen as snobs...But I will give that one some thought and get back to you...Now if you had said Bass Snobs, well, I understand that thought process. Because there are some you meet that tend to be rather condescending to anyone that doesn't bass fish or throw their fish back "for another day"...ie., I'm not cleaning and eating fish types.
