Duckett 7'11" MH Cranking Rod. Lightweight and will launch a crankbait further than any of my other crankbait rods. I have a Power Tackle 7'3" Cranking Rod and it will not cast anywhere near as far as the Duckett will.
For the money a St Croix 7'8" Mojo Big Crankster is really good also.

Ron at Reel Time Rods builds a great crankbait rod. He has a shop at Pope's Landing at Lake Fork. His # is 903-450-6400.

I too am in the market for a deep crank bait rod, my buddy has the 7'10" KVD cranking rod and he says its good but feels like it might not be all that good for the very deep crank baits. Maybe the 7'11" would be better. Me personally, I think I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Skeet Reese Magnum Crankbait rod. Good luck with your choice!

I searched and searched for a rod that could handle the 10XD properly and not wear me out.
My partners and I won a a lot of money in 2013 and a big portion of it was won on the 10XD. When the bigguns can be caught cranking I'm throwing the 10XD all day long.
Now that I'm using the magnum crank bait rod by Hook Spit I am much less tired and less sore at the end of the day.
I designed the handle longer because with my nerve damage in my arms and hands it allows me to place the rod under my armpit and use my body to handle the bait rather than just my arms and wrists. It makes a HUGE difference.
The full 8' length allows for unbelievably long casts. I'm a Lew's fan and I had to go from a BB1 to a BB2 because I was almost throwing all the line off the BB1.
When you hook a really big fish the rod has just enough action to allow you to play her without her throwing the treble hooks, yet it is just stiff enough to handle the bait. You will struggle throwing the 10XD on a rod with too much action. You'll lose distance on your casts plus those huge cranks like the 10XD just create too much drag for a rod like some other cranking rods that were designed for light to medium crank baits.
Hook Spit is offering a 20% still if you get my code.
The rod retails for $179 but is $143.20 with my code.
I will be at the McDonalds (Sealy Outdoors) tourney on Toledo Bend Saturday night and fishing on Sunday only. If you wanna see one of the rods or buy one I will have a few brand new ones with me.
I have been throwing an Alabama rig on this same rod too. I didn't believe it would be heavy enough for an A-rig but it actually does much better than using an extra-heavy flipping stick.
Holler if you have any questions.

Check out American Rodsmith out of Houston.....not sure where the dealers are but you can call them. I have 2 of their 6' bass casting rods that I use at the coast for salt water fishing. Landed many a 40" red on them. Light and tough. American Rodsmith and Kistler are two of the sponsor's for all the oil field fishing tournaments. They give rods away by the hundreds at these tournaments. Still using all the rods today that I got 6 and 7 years ago and I can assure you I abuse the hell out of em' and they just keep going.

I custom build about 5-10 rods a year for customers. I built a 10XD rod for myself that is 8 foot and collapsable to better lay on the deck or go in the rod box. I threw it about 20 times. Thought it was perfect.
Lakes in west Texas went dry and I sold my boat. Holler via PM if you are interested in more details. I would take $200 + shipping.

My discount code for 20% off any Hook Spit rod is:
BLHS
I think that's right...if not, just tell them Bryan Landers and they will look up my code)
Any of you can use the code for the 20% off.
I have two rods to deliver to new owners at Lake Fork June 5-7 while I am there for the API tourney. If anyone else needs one let me know. I should have several new ones with me that can be purchased.
