Of course. Skeet Reese rods are always trash talked on here, but I was watching B.A.S.S. events from 2013 and several pros were using them. Not just Skeet. Any time you ask which rod, reel, or boat, you will always get "Use the ones I use. They're the best" from most people.

I have a full set of micro magic rods and love them but the price tag is a little steep. I have fished several of the h2o ethos micro rods and they are sweet. For $79 they are a steal. Dickey also now has a series out called ghost that is only $99 the actions are still great and the components are good looks like a great value to me.

Has anyone laid their hands on those new all star lite rods? I saw Chris lane with them at the St. John's river and after some research found out what he was fishing with. They look sweet just don't know how they feel?

Academy rods are junk, duckett ghosts included.that rod was so much more hype than what it is. Over rated. All the all stars and h20 express rods are built fast and In correctly. 13 omen is the best rod for $100 or buy a use. Powell.

As one who has been fishing for well over 40 years, all rods in general are much better than they used to be. I don't particularly care for Duckett rods as I believe them to be over-priced for what you get. The reason most pros use whatever they use is because of money. They're sponsored to use them. If you're limited in funds for rods, it's a simple case of buying what you can afford. There are serviceable rods at almost all price points.

And, rods, like almost everything else, to increase in performance, the price starts going up fast. When you get to "enthusiast" level rods your paying exponentially more for ever smaller increases in performance.

I have St. Croixs, Steez, NRX, old All-Stars, etc. Do I really catch that more fish with them? I seriously doubt it but I sure paid a lot more for them. I PERCEIVE value in them and find them to be "better" and I'm fortunate in that I can afford them but you certainly DON'T have to have them to catch fish.

I have a handful of ethos rods and have yet to break one. I looked them over well and haven't had any problems. With that being said I agree with ban-d. Omen rods are top notch at $100. I own a few powell rods and the quality is hard to beat.

Omen is really good in that price range, the ethos rods are great for their price range especially when you can find them on sale. I'd trhrow the Falcon bucoo in the ring too. Also have a Ardent denny brauer flipping stick that works well I bought for 100 not sure how their other rods are though.
