Very good read. When I moved here 15 years ago, I never imagined not moving back to San Diego one day. Now, Texas is my home and I can't imagine moving back.

I got to meet Mr. Barone this weekend and visit with him a little. Very nice guy! At first I didn't care much for his articles but I stuck with them and have acquired a taste. I think the first one he wrote that I kind of got in sync with him was the one a couple of years ago about KJ. That was a beautiful piece about Texas. I was born and raised here but have been around the world and under it a couple of times but this is where my roots are buried.

I have never visited your great state physically.....but have done so mentally many times.I think about places I would love to visit, retire, perhaps live and Texas leads the list.Be proud and thankful of what you have as many of us are indeed envious. The image I have of your state is what lead me to this forum and keeps me here.Well done to all of you and those who have come before you.Remember, not all Californians are whacked, maybe we are just green with envy.

Many of us are envious of what ya'll have in the California Delta, too. I hope your politicians don't screw it up! Come over to Texas any time. We welcome everyone!

Thank you sir!I will get there someday and if any of you are brave enough to come out this way, look me up.I believe that everyone who frequents this forum shares a common thread;hell..everyone does at some level.I feel comfortable in here and with you all and although I don't post much,I'm here often.Good people are all around all of us regardless of location. You are correct in your assessment of the Delta. It is fragile and vulnerable on many fronts. You all owe it to yourselves to see it before we ruin it.Regards,Mike.

Great read, thanks Fouz! texas

I am a native Texan and have traveled for business all over this country. No place I would rather move to. I was fortunate to buy some land and move put to small town life in the country almost 21 years ago. I am here to stay and never moving back to the big city.

Mike (calidelta), come on over and eperience what Texas has to offer...be happy to take you fishing anytime sir.
