Many of you complain about Don Barone's writing style. I like it but can understand that it is hard to follow at times. I think this one is a pretty easy read and very enjoyable. Hope you do too.

Texas, Tayxus, or Texis, however you pronounce it, is a wonderful state. I was fortunate to have been born and raised here, and dearly love this place. Sure we have some problems. Every place does....but we're still Texans, and no matter how big or small we are, we stand tall and proud when we think of our home state. How could we not love a state that has so many lakes, all man-made....with so many "shared Lone Star Lunkers" - and Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted, and Guadalupe Bass?" Not to mention BBQ'd brisket and ribs, bluebonnets, Friday night and Saturday football, and Tex-Mex...the Alamo, and Luckenbach, and the Hill Country....east Texas forests and lakes....Big Bend, Palo Duro Canyon, the Valley, and everything in between.....can you tell that I love this place?

I love Texas, I am thankful every day for the Alamo and the people who sacrificed everything for it!
