Before the doc and wife will let me get back to fishing. Any reports on Naconiche from you East Texas crappie chasers? By the way CRAPPIE TACOS on the menu tonight!

Me neither. Just a little medical problem but no big deal. I'm just spouting off cause I'm ready to drown a minner and flip a jig.

Yes, I'd be interested in learning about naconiche as well. I have a friend who moved to nacodoches a few months ago and was thinking id make the drive down there if the fishing is good on that lake. Neither of us know very much about crappie fishing but we're interested in giving it a try.

We would be fishing from a row boat or the bank, I'm guessing we'd be able to access some decent areas since it's not a very big lake. Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

Some good fishing on Naconiche but you're just about going to have to have a boat and depth finder to locate the brush piles holding crappie this time of year. However, this lake also has a good brim population that you could probably catch from shore and you're apt to hang a bass just about anywhere on that lake.

The fishing pier is in deep water! Would be great! I'm going this weekend hopefully. I'll give you guys a report. Catching lots at Nac, but tons of small ones.

Well, my friend tore up his knee and will have to get surgery pretty soon, so we have to scrap the fishing for a while at least. That will give me a little more time to try and learn more about crappie fishing in general and naconiche too. Thanks for the input guys. One option would be for me to haul my boat down there but it's a big bay boat and I'd really prefer not to haul it down there not to mention I'm terrified of stump filled lakes too.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. As for Naconiche, I don't think you would run fast enough in that lake to be fearful of stumps. There is very little open water. A buddy of mine fished it last weekend and only caught dinks although he did catch some nice bass. If I can ever get a day off I'm headed there. A big boat might be a bit hard to get around in now that you mention it.
