Any guesses as to how high this will allow cedar creek to rise? Its currently 3.18 down now. Is it too much to ask for a foot?

Not much more than where it is right now without additional rain tonite. Come on, another foot would be fantastic before summer hits

I'm thinking it will get to 319 with runoff from up north. Not much more than that but, that is just a guess. If you've looked at the USGS map/data you'll notice the level varies every hour due to the wind/wave action is my guess. We typically get some small increase for a few days after a good rain up north via Kings Creek.

I'm hoping it will get a little more than you're guessing, Bob. But, its watershed, which is approximately the white circle in this rainfall image, didn't get nearly as much rain as south and east of us did, so it may not be a lot more than that.

I was disappointed when I crossed Cedar Creek and Lacy Fork on US 175 this morning. Neither was running as high as they were after last week's rain.

Bud, you need to share that map website with me, I'd really like to have that one.

I kept a pretty good watch on radar and it sure looked like the area north of us got hammered. Just checked and USGS shows 318.85 and rising plus we got a little more rain this morning. I'm thinking 319 at least from this rain event? That puts us 3' low, the best we've had in over a year now.
For some reason it seems every storm that comes thru splits as it approaches us going north and south of us and missing us for the most part. This is the first year in the past 15 years I've been here the lake stayed this low over the winter going into spring.
Hope to see you for breakfast in an hour or so!

Bob, I was thinking the same thing as you, that the entire watershed was getting hammered. When I didn't see as much water in the creeks as I was expecting, that made me check the map. Here's the map I always check.

I'm headed to Longview in about five minutes, so no breakfast out for me this morning. Y'all enjoy.

it kinda thought south east of the creek had the best chances for serious lake rises
like mentioned its mostly about the watershed above the lake

Bob, I;m with you on it hitting the 3 ft, level, As of 9 am this morning they are showing cedar creek to be 3.08 ft, low, won;t take much run off to get to that 3ft, low level mark,

There is no doubt that we want all the rain we can have, however in your opinion at what point would you think we would be pretty good going into the fall? If we were 2 ft low on cedar creek going into the hot summer would that be enough to carry us through and leave the lake in pretty good shape going into fall?

From what I heard they pumped a lot of water into Lake Arlington this spring from there. Cause Lake Arlington was like 9ft low in like February and now it's almost full . That's what lake patrol told me

The creek that runs into the north end "lacy creek" runs through my ranch. We haven't seen in bank high in over 2 years . It was bank high last Friday and is about 1/4 full and running this afternoon. So the lake is still on the rise, 2.98 and rising. Hopefully we can make it to 2.6 on this go round
