I, too, like the Dobyns rods, but they are a bit pricey. I get my rods from Jason Romero at Bayou Kustom Rods for like $180-$200. You do not state what your budget is, but getting a custom rod (designed by him, me and another guy) for that price is GREAT!!! Yes, I am on his prostaff, too. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Probably because you didn't want to spend in the $300 range. I love the Dobyns 805CBRM for deep cranking. It is a great rod and fishes cranks well. I can't compare it to any of the others mentioned in the thread as I haven't used any of them.

Check out Hook-Spit custom 10xd rod. It's 8' long and absolutely amazing throwing a deep crank all day.

Ok lets put a price point on the rod, say $150-$200 this should maybe help narrow the choices

The two that I have fished in that price range is the Duckett 7'11" and the 13 fishing Envy 7'11" cranking. Both are extremely light, balanced and can cast a mile. I borrowed the Duckett from a friend and fished it for a couple weeks so I cant speak long term, but I liked the long handle and it handled all crankbaits I threw with it from a 1.5 to a dd22. I now own the 13 fishing 7'11" cranking rod and all I can saw is wow!! It has just the right action that I was looking for in a deep cranking rod and the quality of the rod is amazing too. Before I had either one of these rods I was using a 7'3" Falcon cara deep runner cranking rod so that is what I have to compare these rods to. Its all about preference though so try and fish with as many of these rods as you can and find the one that feels best to you

Castaway has several good cranking rods. They have a 7'6" XDD Skeleton Rod specifically designed for the 10XD and it has an action that will handle the BIG Cranks very well. They also have a DD22 7'10" rod that is great for the "smaller" rolfmao cranks. Either one won't BREAK THE BANK either!!!

Over the last 30 years I've had quite a few crankbait rods built for moving baits of all sizes. some were good others not so.
I just purchased 8 Seeker React Pro rods.
There are 6 different actions in this series, from 6'8" to 7'11".
Glass rods are all I've used for moving baits for over 25 years, but no company made different rod actions (glass)for different type moving baits until now.
Fisherman's One Stop on Fork has all 6 actions in stock so that you can feel which action is the one you like before purchasing.
Pretty sure they're at $180.
