well as far as them not being waterproof, you can buy the water resistant sleeves as an option or if its raining, I just remove them and use the main 7inch, but I dont really fish in the rain too much, so not a big concern for me. I have not had any issues in terms of water coming over the boat and hitting them. But since they are wireless..its too easy to remove and store them for those unexpected rain storms...

Ive considered that as well ... for me though a transducer on the bow is a must, as is one on the back of the boat while running.

Ok. I think I know what im getting, now just to figure how im going to arrange it. Going with the 12 and 9 touch. think I'm going 12 on bow with tm mounted sonar and lss on jackplate. Then I will put the 9 on the console next to my existing 5 G2. Use the Lss2 for the 9 and I already have a sonar puck glassed in on the 5. how dose that setup sounds? will I need 2 Ethernet cables to all 3 together?

You will not need the LSS2 box at all with this setup. You need to mount the transducer that comes with the unit on the rear of the jackplate. Run the transducer cable to the 9 at the console. Then run an ethernet cable from the 9 to the 12 on the bow. That is the only thing you will need to link those two units. Then run you an ethernet cable from your 9 to your 5. So you will need 2 ethernet cables. I suggest buying them eBay.
Your sonar transducer on your TM will plug straight into your 12. Your glassed in transducer will plug into your 9 and then will be sent to all other units via the ethernet cables (even if you don't want to use the rear sonar on the 12, you will have the signal anyway).

Thanks Yank! That sounds like it will be a good setup to me, giving me the biggest display on the bow.

You will like that setup. Having 2 at the console will allow one for sonar/GPS and the other for side/down imaging.
I'm sure you're gonna mount them on Ram mounts, but in case you want to use a Ballzout mount, I have a brand new I'll sell. I bought it 2 weeks ago, put it on boat and then didn't like it. Where I had to mount it didn't work for that particular mount. It's a good solid mount that will NOT slip in rough water like the Ram mount will.

Which model/color do you have? I will need one for the 12 on the bow that will mound flat to the deck. If you think yours will work, how much do you want for it?

I'm driving so I can't look it up but it's the biggest and tallest they make. This was when I mounted it and took it right back off. I'll ship to you for $150.

The 12 on the bow makes more sense, because your eyes are farther away than at the console. I used an Lss2 at the transom for the nine, as well as on the trolling motor for my 12. When I'm looking at down scan, I want to see what's directly under me, not what's 22 feet behind me.
