The fishing is still RED HOT on Lake Livingston with quick limits hitting the cooler daily. The shad spawn is full blown right now and the striper have been on the prowl early. We are catching them with 4” sassy shad shallow in the mornings for about an hour after daylight. It’s a short lived bite, but definitely worth getting up early for. After that we are moving out to the main lake humps where 25’ seems to be the depth of choice for the whites. We’re slamming the whites on shad style slabs and picking out a few striper on slabs with more of an elongated shape from RSR.

We are the ONLY guide service on Lake Livingston that puts clients on consistent limits of striper! Livingston is not traditionally know as a great striper lake, but we are on a mission to change that.

Wow. Nice catches. Looks like healthy fish, what's considered a big stir per for that lake?

Lake Livingston is not really known for big striper. I would say that any striper over 25" is a solid fish and that striper over 30" are exceptional. Most of what we are catching is in the 19"-23" range. We caught them up to 30#'s below the dam years ago but I don't think that happens anymore.
