a while back almost everyone defended a fishermans RIGHT to weigh in a accidentally foul hooked fish.. This guy and witness say it was not foul hooked on purpose, so its a legal catch--what would you say if it was your fish--

Bass guys tend to be a little uptight about this kinda stuff. They all act like if they would have foul hooked a fish like this they would have thrown it back and never spoke another word about it. Hmmmmmm???

I do agree that he should'nt get the record for a foul hooked fish. To try and hook it several times earlier, then hook it in the bak. Sounds fishy to me But who am I to say. Good fish anyway

Most tournaments would not allow you to weigh in a foul hooked fish if taken while sight fishing. It will be interesting to see what happens with this one, but I am just stoked to see a bass that big.

All I know is that I would have kept the fish for proof, and then given it to share a lunker. Also it wasnt intentionaly snagged, so i think he should get it, the only thing in my mind, no matter how much video and pictures they have, if there aint no fish their is no real proof.

When the record is broken, I want to see it as an uncontested world record. No foul hook, no questions, just a good clean catch with certified scales, measurements, and witnesses. That way the only thing that can be said about it is that it is a great fish.

I personally don't want to see this go down as the record. I'm with Bills2006, I would like to see a clean record with no questions of authenticity.
Although, it is going to be interesting to see if they announce what she was "caught" on, and if this guy gets some kind of endorsement deal.

its like hitting a world record buck with your car on the way to the hunt. yea its a nice kill but would hunters reconize it..... the real record fish was CAUGHT because perry fooled the bass into biting the lure, on a POS reel of all things. This guy has a 20,000 boat, polarized sun glasses, the best equipment money, can buy and they might credit him because he FOUL HOOKED a fish! who knows that fish might have been tight liped all day, and they never would have caught her.. maybe they really tried to hook it....I agree the record has to be uncontested. No questions asked...the real record has stood for 75 years, and needs to be properly relieved.. if it was my fish, i would take a picture but not consider it a world record if i didnt make that fish bite my lure, its a disgrace to all those who fish (its not called snagging).

The world record non-typical was hit by a train, but it's still the world record. But nobody is credited for shooting him, either. So you do the same with the fish. The fish is the world record, because that's what it is, and the guy gets no credit for catching it. No sense in the fish not receiving credit.
