I'm heading to Corpus at the end of the Month & I plan on doing some fishing on Bob Hall Pier. Anyone have tips on what equipment I should bring? What type of baits to use?

Med/heavy casting/spinning gear. Bait depends on what you are targeting, but live shrimp or mullet (live or cut) are good options. Also spoons incase there are smacks or jacks. I would also bring a sibiki to catch whatever baitfish are around.
If you are going to be there Memorial Day weekend, good luck finding a spot where the fish are though...you may consider just fishing the surf if you have the gear...I hate piers when they are super crowded...

Something that easy to catch. I purchased a 6000 Sized Penn Spinning reel should I use that or my Bass Fishing Gear?
