Can't wait...will it be the Mepps guy, Dennis? The suspense is killin' me.....I was throwing the Mepps at Goody's (west end of the 751 bridge at Tawakoni) from the dock Wednesday and was killin' the BIG sandies. Wind was blowing into the docks.....

How did you guys do? Pretty rough out there. We caught all of ours on #4 Mepps, but we were trolling them. Kinda figured that out by accident. I just threw one out while we were looking around and caught three pretty quick, so that is what we did the rest of the time. It was too rough to sit still, for us.

I'm sure JV will post the results. It was rough and my new I pilot worked great!! We caught a bunch just wasn't the big one we needed.

An amazing group of fellowship just happened ... Pretty much the whole winnings from the top 3 returned the favor in donating back to our beloved hybrid/striper stocking program we call the RHSA We ended up 4th (Rockwall Roy, Jt, LadiesMan and I) but had a smack down on those pesky hybrids all morning!!! The group that showed up today was just amazing. JV, great people surround you! The sponsorships were through the roof! It was showmanship at its best to say the least.... Pretty sure the top four were all in the 12lb stringer range! What a blast Rhodonna champion fish/ whip/ moe Champion fish pup pup BigFish Coachzee Mix and PlanoKeith Fastguy LadiesMan Moe .. Blue

As usual we out-funned the field. Cliff, Ruben and I were treated to a great display of angling by SuperDuck.
A super event that really shows what people working for a common goal and accomplish, David from shut-up-and-fish set the bar pretty high for sponsors and donors.
Varner ran it like the well oiled machine.

Was a blast as usual. Had my lucky charms with me today! Mrs. luvs to fish and daughter almost pulled us to the top. Class act of guys and gals put on a great show today. Thanks to JV all the cooks and sponsors. Dr Whiplash for the great entertainment as usual, and just great fellowship with some great fishermen. So glad to be a part of a great cause, which gives back to the lake we all enjoy so much.
See y'all on the water Mike

The RHSA has been blessed with some great men and women!! We have sponsors that represent us even greater. David at Shut Up and Fish out did himself this year donating an I Pilot for the auction valued at almost $2000.00. Moe's Tackle, RSR lures, member donations of rods, Ranger baseball tickets, lure packages and much more. I was blown away by the generosity of everyone. A big thank you to everyone for supporting lake Ray Hubbard!!
John Varner was our director and responsible for organizing and coordinating the event. Well done sir, thank you!! Frank, Terry, Mark and your wives, great job at providing and preparing lunch. The food was awesome. And on this topic I know it is early, this is the 2nd year our own membership has stepped up and coordinated lunch. Someone needs to be getting ready for next year and letting John know early they will take over the lunch responsibilities.
Congratulations to the winners, Gene, Big Dad, Mike and as stated above these guys on their own put their winnings back to the RHSA as donations. I want to let everyone know that will be interested in fishing future tournaments with us this is not the norm. That money is yours to keep but these guys stepped up and above by giving back.
We have a great membership. If interested go to our web site or contact me or any other member about joining. There are no membership fees just good old boys striving for a great cause.

It was a great time as usual. I especially enjoyed being able to fish the tournament with my son Bobby this year. He and I don't get to fish together much any more. Hubbard is a good fishery and you guys are doing a great job supporting it with the hybrid stockings. JV deserves a special thanks for putting this all together. Keep up the good work!!!
