Nice. Did you catch them on the rocks shallow? Figured it might be a little too early for them to be up shallow already.

Now that's a mess of good eatin!

Thanks for the info. I usually catch them in June. Guess I"m going to have to hit some up my spots this weekend.

when we fish ray hubbard we fish at the rocks by the bridge (not the bass pro shops bridge, but the other one that runs parallel), are these the rocks that are always refrenced? And is that area even shallow? Just wondering. What has been working for everyone? Our best results come with shrimp, but our results are not good at all so that kind of gives you an idea of how desperate we are to catch fish. We are bank fisherman. Any guidance will be appreciated. Don't need a honey hole or anything, just some advice. Thanks.

They are referencing pretty much any place that has riprap, and there are lots on Ray Hubbard. I-30 bridge, 66 bridge, Miller bridge, jetties, etc. I have found Navionics really useful. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp <- This is free to use. It will show you the depth of all parts of the lake. Ray Hubbard is 7ft low now, so just subtract 7ft from the depth. I installed the app on my phone which costs about $10. The nice thing about the phone app is that it uses GPS to show you exactly where you are on the lake. Given that the lake's so low, it will show you standing in the "water" or where the water used to be.

Yesterday we were catching channels on slip bobber rigs and off the bottom in anywhere from 5 to 10 ft of water. Some are right up next to the rocks and some were a little further out. We tried lots of baits and had success on all of them. They are biting pretty good right now.

@heavylead. Thanks for the navionics link. I've searched for something like that many times and never found till now.

Cj's Monster bait has been working for me. After I seen this post, I went out on Saturday and Sunday and caught some big blues and channels on it on the rocks on Hubbard. Pretty much any rocks on the lake will hold fish this time of year. Been catching mine about 2-4 foot deep. Good luck. Here are some pics

When yall go out to catch these blues and channels, are yall hitting them early in the morning or are they always out there? Also, when I went last year it was great fishing when the wind was crazy. Was it a moderate wind or high winds? Sorry for the questions but I want to go this weekend

Wind blown rocks any time of day. They are up there spawning in the rocks and are on a very aggresive bite through May....
