Just wanted your input on buying used electronics. Things like can you get updates if you are not the original owner. How many hours are to many and any other tips or thoughts you might have about used electronics. Thank you.

Kind of like buying a used car, you pay your money and you take your chances! Especially if it's from someone you don't know. You likely can save some money but, there is always a reason someone wants to sell, probably something you won't like.
I know you can get updates of the unit is still under warranty and possibly even if it's out of warranty, I don't know for sure.
I'd prefer to pay more for a new unit than to take my chances, it' just depends on the deal and relationship you have with the seller.
If the seller is someone that has been on the forum for a long time chances are he is probably someone you can trust.
Call David at shut-up-and-fish for good deals on new stuff and maybe even better pricing than used stuff.

A lot of people buy a less expensive unit to save money, and then later realize that want a bigger screen or a different brand or whatever. Buying used electronics aren't bad. Just ask questions about what it was that the persons didn't like or wanted different that made him want to sell.

buying used electronics is like used tires if they are over 2 yrs old the manufacturers wont repair them an if they do it cost more to fix them than they are worth.
