I have caught a bunch of 23'inchers up to 23 3/4", but only over was the 12. I finally got another, but also a little heartbroken. I got her in the boat and without a doubt she had close to a DD head and length. I put her on the board easily over 24.5". I put her on the Cul-m-rite and it doesn't lie, only 7.26! I couldn't believe it and then looked at her belly, all spawned out, couldn't have been skinnier. Still thrilled, but for a minute thought I was going to be on another DD.

Still a nice fish! I caught one at mill creek like that before. Huge just no belly! Congrats on the over!

Congrats Rob! That fish looks eerily similar to the over we had during Bass Champs... A 7.39. Someone said maybe a native black?

I would say likely. Cody's 10 pounder with me in March was 23.5" and most likely Floridan.

Nice fish! I've yet to break the 23 1/2" mark out there......this is the year though!

it is amazing how many Fork fish are in that 22.5-23.99" range.

anyway, here's the rest of my report. I fished 9 hours with Cody on Wednesday. We had a high numbers bite day with BB just short of 6, it was a fun trip! I went back out for 3 hours catching 3, I wasted a bunch of time on a bed, should have listened to Cody that most are too spooky right now.

Thursday I went out by myself, struggled no bites first 3 hours trying to do what Cody and I did Wednesday, but in different areas. I gave that up and went to some of my personal favorite areas and baits, caught the over and then within an hour caught 6 around the 16" mark, had a 3 pounder jump off, 5.3, and a 5.8. The 5's were healthy and fought harder than the worn out post spawn over.

I had Aaron Martens move in on me (ok, it was a community hole). Pretty cool fishing 50 yards off him or him fishing 50 yards off me. I learned a lesson watching Aaron you can drop shot in the wind, just stroke it! Even Aaron couldn't have felt a bite, he was just stroking the drop shot frantically. You think he knew the community hole, which BTW is perfect for his style of fishing offshore or did he see a lame guy in his Columbia PFG, Frabill rain suit, Ranger, and dual power poles not catching any fish out in the middle of nowhere so he had to stop.
