Lake Conroe,
Fishing with my older brother in our Dad's old tri hull muskie that he converted into a bass boat. I was 13 yrs old throwing a 6" Red Fin (the only bait that I used back then) launched that bait in a high arc to the grass edge and when it was about 2 ft above the water the hugest bass EVER (13yr old me recalling the story) jumped up out of the water and did his best to nail that bait mid air...never caught that fish and have never had one since try to do that, but I knew from that day on that this was the best part of bass fishing.
2 yrs ago on Gibbons fishing frogs in the pads. I had a guy ease into my area and we were chatting and sharing the fish. He tossed his horny toad to the pad edge and I got to see a 2 lb'r jump out of the water and nail that bait in mid air. It was the coolest thing ever.

I was about 5-6 years old. We were fishing the power plant lake in Savoy. Brushy Creek I believe is the name of it. We had access back then. Dad was wading out in the reeds. I was throwing a Black Chugger from the bank. I got it hung up in some reeds and finally got it out and had it almost to the back and a 4.5# hit it. My dad thought I had fallen in. By the time he got there I had it up on the bank. He had it mounted for me. That was about 50 years ago. God bless my dad for getting me hooked.

I was maybe 8 or 9 and fishing the Fox Chain of Lakes in Northern Illinois (we were camping at a state park there). I was fishing from shore and threw my only lure a jet black Jitterbug that I had gotten from my grandpa's tackle box. About a two pounder hit that thing about half way back of my retrieve. Put it on a stringer (sorry no catch and release back then) and ran all the way back to our campsite to show my parents.
Funny thing it was a bright clear sunny day. Lucky for me the bass did not know he was not supposed to hit a top water on a bright sunny day.
Hooked me for life. Now I'm not sure if I should be happy about that or not considering all the money and time I spend trying to replicate that feeling.
