So I just purchased a HDS 9 Touch a couple of weeks ago. I am still learning how to use it. I am wanting greater contour detail and such. My question is what is the best Navionics chip for Texas lakes? There are a ton of options out there and I don't know much about them.

I went thru this recently!
Don't buy the Insight HD from Lowrance...it's already in your touch unit!
I bought the latest 2014 Navionics Platinum Plus and it is great.

I buy the Navionics Gold edition. I researched it about 3 years ago when I bought my first chip and couldn't see much benefit at all between it and the Platinum....especially for the difference in money.
I bought another chip about 2 months ago and researched again with same result. I suggest the Navionics Gold.

I run the navionics chip on an HDS9 touch. When you get it might as well go out and apply latest changes.

I run the Platinum or the Nav+ chip on all 3 of my units. Each have their advantages, but those are the definite 2 that I feel are the best for me. IF you need anymore info on them feel free to ask away either here or a PM whatever s best for you.

I have used the platinum hotmaps for two years and it works well for me. I keep it updated through the latest data download page.
