Would you recommend a Med. lt or med. for shaky heads, dropshot, wacky rig, etc and 6'6 or 6'9? Thanks!

Longer is better so go 6'9" or longer.
Go medium. Medium light would be too soft to drive home a hook set.
At $100 Jonny Morris is good. I would also look at Temple Fork or Falcon Buccu.
Also, check out the TFF trading post. You can find some great deals on rods on a daily basis.
If you bump up your price point you can get into some pretty nice rods. Dobyns Savvy, Kistler KLX, Falcon Lowrider just to name a few.
Hope this helps.

Yep medium for sure. I would honestly go 7, but not a big difference probably be between 7 and 6'9. No shorter than 6'9. Carbonlite is a great rod. Also check out the browning superlight. Awesome for the price, and excellent sensitivity. It's a good deal. Fished alot of rods and you will find it hard to get one that will beat the Browning for what you pay.

I'm pretty happy with my Skeet Reese Drop Shot rod. 6'10" I think, plenty of back bone.. caught a 6.5 on it a few weeks ago on 8lb Invisix, and a little cheaper than your budget.

Ghost 6.10m casting is a good rod for shaky and drop shot fishing...under 100.00 as well!

I have a Med Fast 6'9" Kistler KLX spin that I use for exactly this.
I freaking love it. Easily my favorite rod to catch fish on. Have it paired with a Penn Battle 2000 and run 20# high vis braid with assorted weighted flouro leaders depending on what I'm fishing.
The rod runs about $150 but for a Gary Loomis American designed/made blank and Texas built rod, it's worth it.

Ok heres my two cents worth on this deal after fishing this style of fishing for several years and it being the core of my tournament startegy. I use a Shimano Spirex reel; the RG2500 with the rear drag, because it is the only reel left on the market that I know of that has a trigger release which means I don't have to deal with a bail and I can get a lot more cast off per day because I just grap the line and the trigger moving one finger slightly rather than using the motion of and entire hand and arm to work a bail. The rod; 6.5 to 7 foot MEDIUM LIGHT, why you might ask? I fish with mono 8 pound for the stretch to relieve stress on the lighter hooks and most finesse lures require zero hook set because most of the time you are fishing with smaller than normal hooks; something roughly the size of a crappie hook, that is extremely sharp. Yes I could fish with floro or braid and use a medium action rod but then your weak point becomes the hook and you need the flexability of the lighter rod to relieve the pressure when you have on a really nice fish. Even with this medium light rod and mono for the stretch sometimes I still push these smaller hooks to the edge. Does this work? You betcha', strike to catch ratio is near 100% and fish landed is near 100% as well even in heavy cover. The line; either PBS Excel or Trilene XL in 8 pound size most of the time because I have had both of these lines on a break testing machine at a trade show and they both passed the 14 pound mark before they gave up......

Here's one more to consider. I love my 6'8" medium Shimano Compre rod. IM-9 graphite, very light and sensitive. They call it their "worm and jig" spinning rod. EVA foam handle. Got mine at Cabelas. Sweet rod.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I recently purchased an Abu Garcia Veracity in a 6'9" medium light. Very light and sensitive rod for the money. First time I had it out, I landed a 7+ using a dropshot on 8 lb line at Lake Fork.
Extremely pleased with the purchase.
Good luck in your search!

Some manufacturer's M may feel more like a ML and visa versa. You will need to put some of the rods mentioned in your hand and determine what is best for you.
