Personally I've never used a net to land a fish and never lost one due to not having a net. I've always thought it was easy enough to land it by hand. What are your thoughts on nets? Do you use them all the time or just during tournaments?

I have always used them during a tournament. Usually leave in the locker the rest of the time.

I prefer to net every fish... I think it is faster and easier for me to deal with em in the net. Crankbaits can be a pain, but even then I still net em.

net in tournaments always. I get nervous when there is no net. However what I don't need is a netman that stabs at the fish.

just wait and I will bring the fish to the net.

I lost two huge bass being lazy last summer lifting the fish into the kayak--been using a net since then. Crank baits can be a pain sometimes.

When I take out the net the fish stop biting for me. No net for me.

No net. I've been boat flipping fish since I was 4. I really don't like nets, they get in the way and most people don't know how to use them. I've seen too many fish knocked off the hook by a spaz with a dipnet.

I always have it ready, but rarely use it. I just like to lip them, I feel like I have more control. And, I agree with the above statement about a bad net man stabbing at the fish. I have one friend that has knocked several good ones off. Now, when he fishes with me, I just tell him "I got it".

Anet is a girl I went to school with, just kidding. I use one but hate it when everything gets tangled up like crankbaits.

Thanks,

I use one about half the time. My partner is pretty good with it. I bought the net from bass pro that has the rubber
netting. Takes the pain out of tangled crankbaits. Been using it about the last two months and love it.

Fish a lake with stripers and you'll get one. You can lip LM Bass but many species you may accidentally catch are not so easy to deal with.

I only launch without a net when I forget to load it. I frequently land bass without it by lipping them, but when I have a big one on, I ALWAYS use the net. I've had too many come unhooked in the net to take a chance losing a possible DD by trying to land one without a net.

Tournament all fish get netted. Net gets stored after every use to eliminate the jinx. Fun fishing only net big fish. Swing everything else.

In a tournament every possible keeper gets netted. I agree with the "I'll bring the fish to the net" statement.

When you look down to see a nice fish has a crankbait or topwater with multiple sets of treble hooks lodged sideways in his mouth...and is thrashing his head back and forth at warp three...it's a dilemma if you don't have a net. I'd rather try to figure out how to get the hooks out of the net than my thumb.
