I grew up on the columbia river in oregon and any given day it was blowing 20+, some days 40+. So not much scares me. Been operating a boat since 14 since my parents rarely ever used it lol. But key is to just go as fast as your comfortable with. Its really hard to sink a boat imo if your responsible about how your driving for the conditions. There are guys that run wot when its rough and they are comfortable doing so. Doesnt mean you have to be. Catching air is no big deal, happens all the time from wakeboard boats for me. Main key is just go at a speed that your good with. Imo its alot more easier to screw thing up when trying to load in windy conditions. Thats when inexperienced guys can get their boat sideways to the trailer/ramp and end up doing damge to their boat. If your on a lake that is windy and the waves are hitting the ramp then you want your trailer shallower than normal. You want it to where the peak of the wave hitting your trailer is where you normally would have it not the trough of the wave if that makes since. The wave will push your boat right up on the trailer with easy. If you have your trailer too deep when tHat wave pushes you onto the trailer your boat will not stop on bunks and will end up hitting fenders and nose on roller and probably get sideways and end the end look like a pleasure boater being waste deep trying to push your boat agains 30nph waves ...it aint gonna work. If you do ever end up in that situation best thing to do is to reverse and tell your partner to pull the truck out a few feet.

Depends on the body of water. Some are not too big of a problem with 20-25 mph winds and others, anything over 12-15 can be a bit rough. A lot of it really depends on how good you are with your boat.

A lot depends on where you launch and plan to fish. If a strong south wind but you can launch on the south side in a protected cove and fish coves nearby it can be doable even it a pretty big wind.

I went yesterday to Conroe. 15mph sustained with gust to 25-30. Lake was a beast with 3-4 footers. I don't care what brand or length boat you have in that kind of action, you're getting wet....and I did!
